Bridge Music on Hudson River

I went for a walk on the Mid Hudson Bridge last week and stumbled on this sound installation by Joseph Bertolozzi. It is created by recording the sounds of the bridge’s surfaces with various mallets which are then composed into musical works, with no other tones added than natural recordings from the bridge. The different musical pieces can be listened to at the two sound stations on the bridge. The installation was launched during the 400th anniversary celebrations in 2009 of Henry Hudson’s voyage up the Hudson River.
